Burn VEIN for any tile still under the fog. 55% goes to the dead address, 45% into the pot. The 8×8 piece of the picture is yours in that transaction, as an ERC-721, and it never goes back under.

settle

Whether it was over the seam is decided one block later, against that block's hash — which did not exist when you dug and which nobody here chooses. Anybody can settle anybody's; whoever settles a winning one keeps 2%.

strike

Half the pot, paid to the digger on the spot. The last tile ever resolved takes whatever is still down there. That is the ending, and it is supposed to have one.

The map is not a secret. It is on chain and anybody with the seed can draw the whole thing — this page does exactly that, in your browser, with the same arithmetic the contract uses. The fog is not a lock; it is a record of what nobody has paid to take yet. What is genuinely unknown is where the pot is, and it is unknown to us too.
